How do you evaluate the penetration of tobacco harm reduction in public health policies?
PANEL DISCUSSION
In theory, policies are based on facts and values. Regarding scientific issues, successful engagement in “evidence-based policymaking” must combine data with persuasion to translate complex evidence into simple stories. In this panel experts from different countries and continents will evaluate the penetration of tobacco harm reduction policies in public health policies. To maximize the use of scientific evidence in health and public health policymaking, what is perceived as important? How perceptions differ in different cultures? What are the obstacles scientists face when they defend the creation of a policy? How does this apply to Tobacco Harm Reduction?
